We are currently looking for an active, energetic Learning Support Assistant to join a secondary PRU in Southampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys activity-based learning and working with young people who benefit from a hands-on, engaging approach.
The role:
- Supporting students through practical, activity-based and outdoor learning
- Working with pupils who display challenging behaviour; confidence and resilience are key
- Building positive relationships and acting as a strong role model
- Supporting emotional regulation and engagement in learning
- Working closely with staff to create a safe, structured and supportive environment
The ideal candidate:
- Active, sporty, or enjoys physical activity
- Confident managing behaviour and not easily phased
- Calm, patient and consistent
- Experience working with young people (PRU, SEN, youth work, sports coaching, or similar is desirable)
- A genuine passion for supporting students who need it most
