We are a service-led vehicle rental provider with a strong reputation in the UK public and fleet sectors. Our focus is simple: reliable delivery, clear commitments, and contracts we can stand behind. We work extensively with public sector customers, where compliance, clarity and value for money are critical. Winning public sector work depends on submitting fully compliant, well-structured, high-scoring bids. This role is central to that objective.
About You
This role suits a bid writer who understands public sector procurement, not just proposal writing. You will have:
- Proven experience writing public sector bids, including Frameworks, DPS, Call-Offs and ITTs.
- Strong working knowledge of UK public procurement processes and evaluation methodologies.
- The ability to analyse complex tender documentation and identify mandatory, scored and evidential requirements.
- A disciplined, concise writing style aligned to public sector scoring criteria and word limits.
- Experience translating operational, financial and technical input into clear, evidence-led responses.
- The confidence to challenge weak, generic or incomplete input from internal stakeholders.
- Excellent editing and review skills, with a zero-tolerance approach to errors and non-compliance.
- Confidence using AI-assisted bid writing and content management tools to improve efficiency and consistency, while retaining full ownership of accuracy, compliance, evidence and final submission.
This is a fully office-based role. Face-to-face engagement with operational, fleet, finance and legal teams is essential to produce accurate, defensible public sector submissions. Hybrid or remote working is not available for this role.

The Role
You will take ownership of public sector bid submissions, ensuring every response is compliant, competitive and score-focused. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the end-to-end public sector bid process from opportunity review through to submission.
- Analysing ITTs, Framework documentation and Call-Off requirements to identify risks and scoring opportunities.
- Developing clear win themes aligned to public sector priorities such as value for money, risk management, service delivery and compliance.
- Writing, coordinating and refining evidence-based responses that maximise evaluation scores.
- Managing and chasing internal stakeholders to secure accurate, timely and defensible input.
- Ensuring all submissions are fully compliant with tender instructions, formatting requirements and attachments.
- Maintaining and improving bid libraries and reusable content.
- Reviewing evaluator feedback and driving continuous improvement in bid quality and consistency.
- Supporting re-bids, framework renewals and contract variations where required.
This is a delivery-focused role. You are accountable for quality, compliance and deadlines.
Benefits
What We Offer
£40,000 - £45,000 dependent on experience. A stable, office-based working environment with direct access to subject matter experts and decision-makers. The opportunity to influence and secure long-term public sector contracts. A business that values accuracy, accountability and delivery over noise.
