Tyrrell Services Limited is looking for an experienced Commercial Refrigeration Engineer to join our growing team. We are a people-focused commercial catering and refrigeration business providing service, repair, maintenance and installation support to customers across the region. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, takes ownership of the jobs they attend and wants to be part of a professional team that supports one another. We believe good engineers should be trusted to do their job properly, not rushed from job to job or encouraged to cut corners.
Due to the geographical spread of our customers, we are particularly interested in hearing from engineers based within the SL, RG or GU postcode areas, although applicants from surrounding areas are also encouraged to apply.
THE ROLE
As a Commercial Refrigeration Engineer, you will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing and maintaining a wide range of commercial refrigeration equipment. Your work will include:
- Fault finding and repairing commercial refrigeration equipment
- Working on bottle coolers, upright fridges and freezers, refrigerated counters, ice machines and walk-in cold rooms
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Refrigeration installation and commissioning
- Electrical and refrigeration fault diagnosis
- Working towards a strong first-time-fix rate
- Completing accurate service reports and F-Gas documentation
- Communicating clearly with customers regarding faults, repairs and recommendations
- Taking ownership of jobs from attendance through to completion
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You will need to be an experienced refrigeration engineer who is comfortable working independently in the field while also being part of a wider engineering and support team.
- Strong refrigeration and electrical fault-finding skills
- Experience with commercial refrigeration equipment, including cold rooms
- Ability to diagnose faults methodically and work independently
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Professional approach to paperwork and compliance
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience working within commercial catering environments
- Manufacturer training or additional industry certifications
