Tyréns UK is building dedicated technical leadership for its growing data centre practice and is seeking an HV Engineering Specialist who combines deep expertise in power and grid connectivity with strong client-facing and commercial credibility. This is a visible technical leadership role with clear accountability for generating opportunities, winning advisory commissions and contributing to the sector’s sales and revenue targets.
Purpose of the role
Power strategy and grid connectivity are among the most critical factors shaping data centre development. This role will provide dedicated leadership in this area, strengthening Tyréns UK’s ability to advise clients from early-stage site assessment and capacity strategy through technical due diligence, connection planning and delivery risk management.
The specialist will work across the combined Tyréns UK offer. Tyréns Hilson Moran contributes expertise in power, MEP engineering, sustainability, environment and technical advisory, while Tyréns AKT brings internationally recognised structural and civil engineering, design innovation and complex-project delivery capability. Together, these disciplines create a genuinely integrated proposition for data centre clients.
The successful candidate will lead the power and grid proposition, manage engagement with DNOs, IDNOs and NESO, and convert technical credibility into trusted client relationships, fee-earning advisory work and sustainable sales growth.

- Convert early-stage technical conversations into paid due diligence, capacity, connection and power-strategy commissions.

- Translate complex power and grid constraints into clear commercial choices and coordinated multidisciplinary responses.
- Support the Sector Lead in strategic pursuits where technical insight is critical to establishing trust and shaping the opportunity.
Capability development
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and quality assurance to colleagues working across the data centre sector.
- Build broader capability in power, grid connectivity and technical due diligence through coaching, knowledge-sharing and consistent technical standards.
