Tyréns Hilson Moran is seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Acoustic Consultant to join our growing Acoustics team in Manchester. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects across residential, commercial, sports and other sectors, delivering high-quality acoustic advice as part of multidisciplinary design teams.

Our work spans the full spectrum of acoustic planning and design, from environmental assessments through to detailed modelling and sound insulation solutions.
The Role As a Senior or Principal Acoustic Consultant, you will: Deliver acoustic input on a wide range of projects, particularly residential developments, alongside commercial, life sciences, data centre and sports projects Undertake environmental noise, vibration and building acoustics assessments. Prepare technical reports, specifications and acoustic design guidance. Support project delivery from initial feasibility through to completion. Liaise with clients, architects, contractors and the wider design team. Lead acoustic surveys, measurements and testing activities. Mentor and support junior members of the team. Contribute to the continued growth and success of the acoustics discipline.
About You We're looking for a candidate who brings: Experience working within an acoustic consultancy environment. The ability to manage projects and priorities effectively. Strong communication and report-writing skills. A collaborative approach and the confidence to work directly with clients and design teams. Experience mentoring and supporting junior team members. A proactive attitude and a desire to contribute to the growth of the acoustics team. Membership of the IOA or an equivalent professional body, or progression towards professional accreditation.
Qualifications / skills / experience Strong experience in residential acoustics, including acoustic design, planning support and Building Regulations compliance. Good understanding of UK acoustic standards and guidance, including Approved Document E, BS 8233 and ProPG. Experience undertaking environmental noise, vibration and building acoustics assessments. Familiarity with specialist acoustic software such as CadnaA, INSUL, EASE or CATT, together with AutoCAD. Membership of the IOA or an equivalent professional body, or progression towards professional accreditation. Experience liaising with clients, contractors and design teams throughout project delivery. ANC Registered Tester status and experience within the sports sector would be advantageous.
