If you’re a skilled Mobile Plant Engineer who’s thought about going out on your own – but don’t fancy the risk, the paperwork or chasing invoices – this might be exactly what you’ve been waiting for.

At PlantFix UK, our engineers work with the freedom and autonomy of an independent, but with the backing, salary and security of a national group.

What makes a PlantFix Engineer different?

  • Paid door-to-door, WEEKLY – no waiting for month-end.
  • SALARIED role – if work ‘slows down’, you’re still paid.
  • No unnecessary workshop jobs to fill the day when it’s quiet – instead, you return to a sensible central point (usually home) and await the next job.
  • You control your van – you manage your own stock, keep it replenished and set yourself up to work efficiently.
  • You solve problems your way – whether that’s using your experience, working with our team, or speaking directly to manufacturers and dealers.

In short, you get the freedom of self-employment without staking your savings on starting up.

The role

  • Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Troubleshoot issues on-site, keeping customers' downtime to a minimum
  • Work closely with the PlantFix team and, where needed, dealers and OEMs to crack tricky technical problems.
  • Maintain accurate, clear records of the work you’ve done.
  • Represent PlantFix with professionalism and pride

You’ll work closely with the Divisional Director and the wider Tyrefix Group, having a real voice in how PlantFix grows.

What’s in it for you

  • Weekly pay
  • Bonus and incentive schemes
  • Company van + fuel card from day one
  • Specialist tooling and diagnostic kit supplied
  • Uniform & PPE provided
  • A genuinely supportive, down-to-earth team
  • Training and development as the division expands

What you’ll bring

  • Experience as a Mobile Plant Engineer / Plant Fitter / Plant Technician / Plant Mechanic
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Maintenance or Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience with excavators, dumpers, rollers, telehandlers, etc.
  • Powered access & LOLER experience desirable but not essential
  • Ideally, you’ll have your own hand tools; however, for the right candidate, these can be provided.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working with minimal supervision.
  • Confident, professional manner with strong communication skills.
  • Strong awareness of Health & Safety and pride in doing a job right.
