This role is ideal for someone who thrives on direct customer engagement and enjoys turning ambiguous enterprise requirements into working software—fast. You'll build prototypes, support high-value enterprise deals, and translate customer needs into insights that directly shape our product roadmap. You'll partner closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to validate customer use cases, deliver solutions in the field, and feed learnings back into how we build.

Things you will do:

  • Engage directly with enterprise customers to understand their requirements, workflows, and technical environments
  • Support enterprise deals as the technical bridge between customer needs and product capabilities
  • Translate customer requirements into clear technical specifications and actionable product insights
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to feed field learnings into the product roadmap
  • Validate customer use cases for new product initiatives through hands-on prototyping and iteration
  • Identify reusable patterns across customer engagements and drive their productization
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across Sales, Product, Engineering, and customer organizations
  • Work on ongoing field engineering initiatives, including prototype delivery for strategic enterprise opportunities, new product launch support and customer validation, productization of successful prototype concepts, and establishing scalable Forward Deployed Engineering practices
  • Participate in architecture and solution discussions, contributing practical, customer-informed engineering perspectives

What you already bring to the table:

  • Strong fullstack engineering experience, with the ability to build and ship working solutions quickly
  • Solid experience designing and working with APIs and integrating across systems
  • Experience with cloud platforms and modern application architecture
  • Experience working directly with enterprise customers and navigating their technical requirements
  • Strong sense of ownership and the ability to drive projects independently from ambiguity to delivery
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical and business stakeholders
  • Customer-focused mindset, with genuine curiosity about customer problems and workflows
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where priorities evolve
  • Strong collaboration skills across Sales, Product, and Engineering functions

Extra awesome:

  • Previous experience in a Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or similar customer-facing technical role
  • Experience working in a product led SaaS company
  • Exposure to AI/LLM technologies and building AI-powered solutions
  • Experience working in startup or high-growth environments
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

How to prepare for a job interview at Typeform

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Typeform uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
