About the Role

As a key member of the finance leadership team, the Finance Manager will report directly to the CEO and take ownership of both financial accounting and management accounting activities across Type Bea’s global operations. This role is both hands-on and strategic, requiring a commercially minded finance professional who can partner effectively with stakeholders across the business while ensuring strong financial control and compliance. The Finance Manager will play a critical role in supporting business growth, improving financial processes, and mentoring one direct report in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the production of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and insightful commentary for senior leadership.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts, budgets, and rolling forecasts to support decision-making and growth planning.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, stock reconciliations, and cost of goods analysis in collaboration with operations and supply chain teams.
  • Review and approve payroll processes, and ensure compliance with global statutory requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and government agencies, managing audits and statutory filings.
  • Provide financial analysis and commercial insight to the CEO and departmental leaders to support strategic initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve financial controls, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and governance.
  • Support strategic planning and financial modelling, including scenario analysis to assess growth opportunities and risks.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven experience in a Finance Manager or Senior Accountant role within a commercial environment (consumer, retail, or e-commerce experience is advantageous).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a small finance team or direct report.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the business.
  • Experience using accounting and reporting systems (Xero preferred; Power BI or similar reporting tools advantageous).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualification preferred.
  • Typically 7+ years’ experience in finance or accounting, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
