Your role in the mission:
Type One Energy is seeking a highly analytical Commercial Analyst to support the structuring, modeling, and execution of strategic energy transactions. This role will sit at the center of commercial operations, supporting project development, offtake structuring, financing strategy, and long-term revenue modeling. The ideal candidate combines strong financial modeling capability with working knowledge of energy markets, power pricing mechanisms, and infrastructure economics. A technical background in Engineering or Power Plant operations is a plus. This role will partner with an existing FP&A function and support strategic commercial decision making.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain detailed financial models (project finance, DCF, IRR/NPV, sensitivity analysis).
- Model long-term revenue streams under multiple pricing structures (e.g. PPA, CfD, capacity payments, ancillary services) and LCOE.
- Support FOAK to NOAK analysis and capital stack optimization.
- Develop and maintain revenue forecasts.
- Analyze energy markets and support price forecasting inputs using publicly available market data.
- Support term sheet development and pricing strategy.
- Assist in customer proposal modeling and financial structuring.
- Support the preparation and executive review of proposals.
- Work with BD to evaluate pipeline opportunities.
- Prepare executive-level investment memoranda and board materials.
- Support the standardization and replicability of commercial structure.
- Interface with engineering and operations to translate technical assumptions into financial inputs.
- Coordinate with finance on budgeting, cash flow planning, and capital requirements.
What you’ll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Energy Systems, or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in: Infrastructure investing, Power market analytics, Renewable or conventional power development.
- Advanced Excel modeling capability.
- Strong understanding of: Project finance structures, Power markets and pricing mechanisms.
- Ability to clearly present complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience modeling power plants or large infrastructure assets.
- MBA, MS Finance, or Energy Systems background.
- Understanding of international energy markets.
