We are seeking to appoint a Head of Hospitality to support the continued growth of Tyneside Cinema Bar Café, Vicolo, and Events.

Tyneside Cinema is the North East’s leading independent cinema and digital arts venue located in Newcastle upon Tyne. It offers four screens with a diverse film program, and three public spaces for dining, socializing, and events. Our venue fosters a community spirit, emphasizing the power of film to promote empathy and understanding.
About the Role
The Head of Hospitality will oversee the food and beverage operations, ensuring quality, innovation, and alignment with our local identity. Responsibilities include:
- Managing site strategy, legal compliance, and operational efficiency to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
- Leading the department to profitability, achieving or exceeding budgets.
- Developing menus that enhance our hospitality identity and revenue.
- Establishing processes and KPIs to minimize financial risks.
- Overseeing supply chain management, waste reduction, and stocktaking.
- Managing payroll and operational resources for efficiency.
- Fostering a culture of excellence, staff development, and succession planning.
- Implementing growth strategies based on market trends.
- Maintaining compliance with all legal and safety regulations, including licensing and health & safety standards.
- Developing and refining hospitality offerings for private hires and events.
Role Accountabilities
Ensure policies and procedures comply with legislation and company standards. Lead by example in licensing, safety, and responsible service of alcohol. Promote a safety-first culture and maintain legislative compliance in all aspects of operations.
Position Details
- Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
- Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week
- Salary: £42,000 p.a.
