Looking for more than just a job?

This could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our Furniture Shop team. This is a hands‑on role where no two days are the same. One day you might be helping customers find the perfect piece of furniture, the next you’ll be supporting deliveries or stepping up to help run the shop when the manager is off.

Most importantly, every sale helps support the vital work of our hospice, making a real difference to people and families in our community.

What you’ll be doing

  • Helping to create an attractive and welcoming shop environment.
  • Assisting with furniture collections and deliveries.
  • Supporting the day‑to‑day running of the store and helping to lead our amazing volunteer team.
  • Covering management duties on the manager’s days off (following training).
  • Working as part of a friendly and supportive team to maximise income for the hospice.

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has retail experience or is keen to learn and develop retail management skills.
  • Enjoys working with people and providing great customer service.
  • Is capable of safely handling furniture as part of our delivery and collection schedule.
  • Is reliable, flexible and willing to take on new challenges.
  • Wants to build a career rather than simply find another job.
  • Shares our passion for supporting the hospice and the local community.

This is much more than a shop supervisor role.

You’ll be joining a respected local charity with a strong reputation and a genuine commitment to developing its people. For the right person, this role offers a clear opportunity to learn retail management skills and potentially progress into a management position in the future.

Benefits

  • A varied and rewarding role.
  • The opportunity to make a real difference in your local community.
  • Training and development opportunities.
  • Support from an experienced and friendly team.22.5 hours per week across 3 to 4 days.
  • Overtime opportunities when business needs require.

Ready for a new challenge?

If you’re ambitious, enjoy working with people, don’t mind rolling up your sleeves and want to be part of something that genuinely matters, we’d love to hear from you.

Join us and help turn donated furniture into vital funds for your local hospice.
