We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Generator Technician to join our growing team based in the North East. This is a predominantly field-based role involving the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of diesel generators and associated equipment across a variety of customer sites.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical experience, excellent fault-finding skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Service, maintain, and repair diesel generators and associated control systems
- Carry out mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis
- Perform planned preventative maintenance and emergency breakdown response
- Install and commission generator systems when required
- Complete service reports and documentation accurately
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures
- Provide excellent customer service while representing the company on-site
- Proven experience working on generators or related plant equipment
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Experience with fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
- Full UK driving licence
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Flexible approach to working hours and travel
- Experience with control panels and ATS systems
- Relevant engineering qualifications or certifications
- Previous field service experience
