Teaching role: Maths Lecturer (Youth College) – RTF2425-106
Team/Context: Part of Tyne Coast College, the Youth College delivers an alternative curriculum for Year 11 students (ages 15-16).
Role Summary
You will contribute to developing and supporting up to 70 students in preparation for GCSE exams, delivering to class sizes of no more than 14 and teaching five different groups within the Youth College cohort. You will receive support from a dedicated Attendance Welfare Officer and Youth College Manager, with a pastoral support network within the teaching team.
Responsibilities
- Deliver teaching to Youth College cohorts with class sizes not exceeding 14 students and across up to five groups.
- Contribute to pastoral support and collaborate with the Attendance Welfare Officer and Youth College Manager.
- Engage with learners to help them progress towards GCSE outcomes and build their confidence in maths.
- Participate in the college’s wider teaching and professional development activities as required.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience with GCSE, Functional Skills, and FE provision is advantageous.
- Open to applicants who are new to the teaching profession but have a genuine passion for maths and the ability to inspire others.

- Salary scale: Lecturer Salary Scale; Spine Points 24 – 31 (£31,283 – £39,279 per annum).
