The Additional Learning Support Department at Tyne Metropolitan College currently has two vacancies for Learning Support Assistants: one full-time role working 35 hours per week and one part-time role working 24 hours per week.

At Tyne Coast College, we pride ourselves on our excellent facilities and a dedicated, knowledgeable team who work collaboratively to support every learner’s journey. We are currently seeking Learning Support Assistants to join our inclusive and learner-focused team.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide tailored support to learners with a range of support needs, both in group settings and one-to-one.
- Assist in the delivery of learning programmes, including support with Maths and English.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
- Work closely with teaching staff and support teams to ensure learners reach their full potential.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience supporting SEND Learners
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C/Level 2 or willingness to work towards.
- Strong communication and ICT skills.
- A positive, empathetic attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Experience supporting learners with behaviours that challenge.
- Experience supporting learners in Maths and English.
- Level 3 Diploma in Education and Training.
- Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Awareness of current developments in Further Education and SEND.
