Are you an experienced Electrical Installation professional looking to inspire the next generation of electricians?
Tyne Coast College is seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled Lecturer in Electrical Installation to join our Construction team. This is an exciting opportunity for an industry professional or experienced lecturer to share their expertise, help learners develop industry-ready skills, and contribute to the ongoing success of our Electrical Installation provision. The role will involve delivering Electrical Installation qualifications up to Level 3 and supporting learners to achieve their full potential.
About the Role
As a Lecturer in Electrical Installation, you will develop and deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across a range of programmes. You will work closely with colleagues, employers and industry partners to ensure learners receive an engaging and relevant educational experience that prepares them for employment and further study.
Key responsibilities include:

Delivering Electrical Installation programmes up to and including Level 3.

Planning and preparing engaging learning activities and resources.

Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback.

Supporting students through tutorial and pastoral responsibilities.

Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement activities.

Working with employers and industry partners to enhance learner opportunities.

Promoting high standards of achievement, attendance and behaviour.

Participating in marketing, recruitment and student engagement activities.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
Essential Requirements

Excellent subject knowledge and practical skills in Electrical Installation.

A relevant Electrical Installation qualification at Level 3 or above.

Relevant industrial experience within the electrical sector.

Experience of teaching, training or assessing learners.

Knowledge and experience of City & Guilds qualifications up to Level 3.

Strong communication, organisational and IT skills.
-
A commitment to delivering an outstanding learner experience.
-
A teaching qualification, or willingness to achieve one within an agreed timescale.

GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards these.

A strong commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding.
Desirable Requirements

A higher-level subject specialist qualification.

Assessor and/or Internal Verifier qualifications.

Experience of apprenticeships and apprenticeship standards.

Knowledge of T Levels within Building Services.

Industry contacts and employer engagement experience.

Evidence of successful course leadership and ongoing professional development.
