Responsibilities
- Work together with Mechanical Engineering and Design Sciences teams on:
- Prototyping and fabrication of prototypes
- Construction of test jigs and fixtures
- Management of 3D printing machinery
- Development and management of CAD models, assemblies and drawings
- Design or support the design of various projects and prototypes (acoustic systems, automotive builds, electronic projects)
Basic Qualifications
- Should be pursuing university-level degree related to ME, EE, CSE, or other hardware-centric engineering or design curriculum
- Basic proficiency with CAD modeling software (SolidWorks preferred)
- High familiarity with 3D printing
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Basic proficiency in CNC and 3D printer operation and maintenance
- Basic knowledge of audio and loudspeaker systems
- Basic knowledge of automotive systems/architectures
- Knowledgeable and experienced in hands-on hardware experience performing fabrication, assembly and/or testing - can be in a professional, academic or recreational setting
- Mechanical tools
- Soldering
- Table saw, router, mill, lathe, etc.
- Experience in creating technical drawings
- Previous internship experience is a plus
- Strong teamwork skills with a proven ability to effectively interact and collaborate with other engineering disciplines
