Location: Era – Wolverhampton How the role will make an impact: To develop and drive a World Class product design and engineering capability, delivering on new product development strategies,existing portfolio enhancement and application support. Overseeing the design, de-velopment and production of physical products, ensuring that all engineering processes align with business goals. Main Tasks & Responsibilities: Architect and deliver a best in class engineering and design capability, supported by a robust end to end processes, promoting ingenuity and integrity from concept to launch and throughout the product lifecycle. Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to develop the core capability of the engineering team. Develop and optimise manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement by driving lean manufactur-ing principles and CI methodologies, ensuring robust process control quality assurance systems are followed. Oversee product design and development processes, ensuring designs meet customer demands, cer-tification and regulatory standards. Represent the Engineering function in strategic planning and decision making processes, and collabo-rate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of design and manufacturing activity. Develop and implement engineering strategies aligned with the overall business objectives. Lead engineering projects from concept, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence and coordination with other departments to achieve project goals. Be a subject matter expert and provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team and wider teams. Key Skills: Batchelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Industrial Engineering or an equivalent qualification. A proven track record of successfully implementing a change management programme within an en-gineering function. Proficient with the operation and capabilities of 3D Design packages and simulation. Proven track record of implementing and exploiting integrity engineering techniques including FEA and FMEA. Proven coaching, mentoring & training capability. Significant experience of leading engineering teams within a product development environment, with a proven track record of project delivery. Proven track record in both design engineering and process engineering. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Key Competencies: Customer Focus – Collaborate closely with product management, customer success, and sales teams to un-derstand customer pain points, needs, and feedback. Drives Results – Align the engineering team’s objectives with the company’s overall strategy and key perfor-mance indicators (KPIs). Collaboration – Ensure that engineering and product teams are in sync on product vision, roadmaps, and technical feasibility. Communicates Effectively – Promote a culture of transparency within the engineering team where issues, progress, and challenges are shared freely.
