We are seeking a proactive and experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fire alarm systems, particularly in line with BS 5839, and will be responsible for commissioning of new installations, extensions, adaptations, and upgrades to existing installations.

The engineer should be proficient with both addressable and conventional fire alarm systems, with experience in GENT systems and Gent qualifications at commissioning level.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, and upgrade fire alarm systems in accordance with BS 5839.
  • Conduct service, inspections, fault find and repairs on existing fire alarm systems.
  • Carry out system extensions and modifications to meet evolving client needs.
  • Ensure all work is completed to high standards and complies with safety regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients.
  • Complete all required documentation and reports accurately and in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • Proven 5 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Engineer.
  • In-depth knowledge of Gent fire alarm systems and BS 5839.
  • Relevant qualifications and certifications (e.g., FIA, NICEIC, ECS).
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of other systems would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

40 hours a week. Hours are flexible to suit business needs but generally day working.

Bonus: Overtime available – opportunity to earn more if desired. Travel time paid after 30 min each way. 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays. Company laptop provided. Company phone or phone allowance.
