About Zenexa
Zenexa Renewables is an Independent Power Producer developing, building, and operating solar PV, BESS, and wind projects across the UK. With a strong pipeline of projects and ambitious growth plans, procurement plays a critical role in delivering complex, large-scale energy assets in a highly competitive supply environment.
The Role
This is a specialist procurement role focused on major equipment packages across solar, BESS, and wind projects. You’ll manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle—from supplier engagement and tendering through to negotiation and contract execution—working closely with engineering, project delivery, legal, and finance teams. This is not a transactional buying role. You’ll be expected to:
- Own category strategies
- Build strong supplier relationships with OEMs
- Provide market intelligence and commercial insights
- Contribute to procurement strategy in a scaling IPP environment
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement of key equipment: modules, trackers, inverters, transformers, MV/HV switchgear, BESS systems, PCS
- Manage full sourcing lifecycle: RFP → evaluation → negotiation → contract award
- Develop and drive category strategies across equipment classes
- Lead commercial negotiations including pricing, warranties, LDs, Incoterms, and delivery terms
- Work closely with engineering to challenge specifications and drive value engineering
- Build and manage relationships with Tier 1 OEMs and suppliers across UK & Europe
- Track market trends, supply risks, and pricing movements
- Support project teams with procurement planning, cost inputs, and delivery tracking
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience in renewable energy procurement (solar, BESS, or wind)
- Proven track record managing high-value, technically complex equipment packages
- Good technical understanding of electrical equipment and project specifications
- Experience working within an IPP, developer, or EPC environment
- Strong commercial negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
