  • Complete tree risk-benefit assessment in line with our VALID methodology
  • Prepare robust tree survey findings that will form the foundation of our assessment work
  • Support the preparation of arboricultural planning documents including Arboricultural Impact Assessments, Method Statements and statutory tree works applications
  • Learn how to provide technical solutions for development design while enhancing and protecting the local environment
  • Navigate planning policy, online datasets, captured survey data and technical drawings
  • Gain experience using tools such as AutoCAD, QGIS and survey-collation software
  • Work alongside ecologists, landscape architects and GBI colleagues
  • Attend project meetings with clients, developers and planning authorities
  • Travel across the UK for surveys, internal events, volunteering days and project work
  • Participate in TG-wide initiatives, including quarterly company gatherings

You’ll also join our structured learning programme, designed to boost your confidence, technical knowledge and project skills - helping you progress from Graduate to Consultant level.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, proactive and excited to learn. You’ll thrive here if you enjoy being outdoors, collaborating with a supportive team and getting stuck into each new challenge.

You’ll ideally have:

  • An academic qualification in arboriculture or a similar environmental discipline (Level 3+). A Level 6 qualification in arboriculture is highly desirable.
  • Awareness of BS5837:2012 and interest in arboriculture within the UK planning system
  • Curiosity and willingness to build technical understanding
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational and time management abilities
  • Confidence working independently or as part of a wider multidisciplinary team
  • A full UK driving licence (with business insurance), as site visits often occur in remote locations
  • Alignment with our values: Caring, Honesty, Opportunity, Enjoyment, Belonging
  • Willingness to spend 3 days a week in the office during your first 2 months, then 2 days per week thereafter
  • You must have permanent right to work in the UK.
