Who are Tyk, and what do we do? The Tyk API Management platform is helping to drive the connected world and power new products and services. We’re changing the way that organisations connect any number of their systems and services. Whether internal, external, public or highly encrypted systems, Tyk helps businesses drive value across various industries.
If you’ve banked online, used an app to check the news, or perhaps even driven a connected car, APIs, and by extension, Tyk, make that possible. Founded in 2015 with offices in London - UK, London - Ontario, Atlanta and Singapore, we have many thousands of users of our B2B platform across the globe.
Our Mission: Tyk is on a mission to connect every system in the world. We’ve started by building an API Management platform.
Total flexibility, default remote, radical responsibility: We offer unlimited paid holidays and remote working from anywhere in the world for everyone. Tyk was founded on the principle of offering flexibility and autonomy to our employees, allowing them to achieve their best results.
The role: APIs are quietly becoming the plumbing of every AI product being built right now. We want someone who can explain that clearly, warmly and without jargon to developers figuring it out in real time: on a blog, on camera, or standing next to them at a meetup. This is a public-facing, on-camera, in-person role. You'll be out where developers are, connecting them with Tyk: writing, recording, showing up, and turning what you're learning into content other people can learn from too.
You’ll start by heading to events alongside teammates who've been doing this for years, then step up to demos, talks and hosting your own sessions as your confidence grows.
What you’ll actually do:
- Create content - blog posts, tutorials, videos, and screen-share walkthroughs on real ecosystem topics and real customer implementation stories. Teaching over pitching.
- Keep documentation developers actually want to read up to date, alongside everything else you're creating.
- Make meetups your bread and butter - one or two events a week, from scrappy local meetups to big conferences. Short demos, real conversations with attendees.
- Train and support real users face to face, and feed what you hear back to product and marketing.
- Learn in public. Share what confuses you, not just what you've mastered.
- Build a real, problem-led presence in the communities that matter: helpful answers and honest takes over polished product pieces.
Requirements: What we’re looking for:
- You’re already making tech content, consistently - on YouTube, a blog, LinkedIn, wherever.
- Real experience doing something adjacent to this already: Developer Advocate, Community Manager, Technical/Solutions Support, Technical Content Creator, Campus Ambassador, or a junior engineering role with a visible content or community side project.
- Comfortable with travel across Western Europe as a regular part of the role.
- You must already have the right to work and travel across Europe.
- Comfortable working from the command line/terminal, and know your way around containers and Kubernetes.
- Fluent with AI tools day-to-day, with the judgment to tell AI-assisted work from AI slop.
- Comfortable writing and speaking about technical topics.
- Genuine curiosity about AI and APIs, self-directed hustle, and energy for a small, fast-moving team.
Nice to have:
- An existing following or community footprint (blog, GitHub, YouTube, conference talks).
- Hands-on exposure to Kubernetes, observability tooling, CI/CD pipelines, or API management.
Benefits:
- Unlimited paid holidays.
- Total flexibility in hours.
- Employee share scheme.
- Generous maternity and paternity leave.
- Volunteering Days.
- Company retreats.
- Employee Wellbeing platform.
We all share the same vision - we value authenticity, respect, responsibility, independence, honesty, diversity and inclusion.
Tyk is an equal opportunities employer and we are determined to ensure that no applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of gender, age, disability, religion, belief, sexual orientation, marital status, or race.
