Role Description
The Job Coach - Restart Contract is a full-time, on-site role covering Porth, Pontypridd and Llantrisant. The role involves providing one-to-one and group coaching to participants, supporting them to overcome barriers to employment and move closer to sustainable work. Day-to-day tasks include:
- Assessing participant needs
- Developing tailored action plans
- Delivering employability workshops
- Offering practical support with CVs, job applications, and interview preparation
The Job Coach will liaise with employers, partner organizations, and internal teams to identify opportunities, coordinate referrals, and track participant progress. The role also includes maintaining accurate records, meeting contract targets and compliance requirements, and contributing to a positive, person-centred environment.
Qualifications
- Strong Job Coaching and Coaching skills, with experience supporting individuals toward employment, training, or education goals.
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills and Communication skills, with the ability to build trust, motivate participants, and work effectively with diverse groups.
- Career Guidance skills, including the ability to assess strengths, interests, and barriers, and to create tailored progression plans.
- Experience in employability, welfare-to-work, education, training, or related support services is highly beneficial.
- Excellent organizational and administrative abilities, including record-keeping, target monitoring, and use of IT systems and MS Office.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, use initiative, and manage a varied caseload in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of local labour market, employer expectations, and support services is an advantage.
- Relevant qualification in careers guidance, coaching, advice and guidance, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is desirable.
