We have a fantastic opportunity for a Children's Rights and Sensory Education Practitioner to join our friendly, dedicated team at Ty Hafan. This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week, with a requirement to work flexibly over weekends and evenings.

About the role

Due to expansions in our offer of services, we are looking for a passionate and driven Practitioner to join our Family Wellbeing and Outreach team and expand our existing educational services. Working alongside the Children's Rights and Education Practitioner, the role will include the development and facilitation of appropriate sensory educational support pathways for children and young people with complex needs, who may be experiencing difficulties accessing statutory education provision due to their specific condition, sensory or communication impairments or emotional wellbeing needs, and to advocate for their rights and care needs within the hospice and in the community.

The post holder will require significant experience in working with children and young people with complex health needs and understand the impact in which a life-shortening condition affects the lives of children and be competent in a range of communicative tools to support children to be included and thrive.

  • Compassionate, collaborative and committed to championing children's rights and participation.
