The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

Due to expansions in our offer of services, we are looking for a passionate and driven candidate to join our family support team and expand our existing sibling support services. The Sibling Support Worker will organise and facilitate a range of events both in the hospice and community to support siblings of children with a life shortening condition, with the aim to encourage emotional resilience, peer group support, participation and relieve isolation. The role will also provide one to one emotional support for siblings, struggling with anticipatory grief and bereavement. The role will be based at the hospice and in the community.

Hours and Working Conditions

Hours for the role are 22.5 hours over 3 days. Applicants will be required to work flexibly, weekend and evenings will be required to accommodate service.

Qualifications

  • Qualified with a Health and Social Care diploma.
  • Experienced in facilitating group activities and events that engage children and young people across a range of ages and interests.
  • Able to confidently apply assessment skills and understand risk management, with knowledge of the principles of participation-based practice.
  • Experienced in providing one-to-one support or mentoring, offering support to children and young people.
  • A strong and adaptable communicator, able to tailor your approach to meet different ages, abilities and communication needs.
  • Passionate about supporting children, young people and families, with the flexibility to work across a seven-day service, including some evenings and weekends.

Covering South, East and West Wales, TÅ· Hafan offer a newly refurbished working environment set within idyllic grounds just a short distance from the metropolitan area of Cardiff. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Sibling Support Worker to join our friendly, dedicated team at TÅ· Hafan. This is a part time role of 22.5 hours per week, with a requirement to work flexibility over weekends and evenings.
