Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst (SFIA Level 4) with a proven track record of delivering within HMRC environments. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and stakeholder engagement capabilities, alongside experience working in Agile delivery teams within complex government programmes. This role will involve eliciting, analysing and documenting business requirements, supporting delivery teams, and working collaboratively with stakeholders across multiple workstreams to ensure successful delivery outcomes. Candidates with previous CESA Futures experience will be particularly well suited to this role, as they will already understand the service landscape, stakeholder community and associated business processes, enabling them to make an immediate impact with minimal onboarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Elicit, analyse and document business requirements from a broad range of stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews and stakeholder engagement activities to capture business needs.
- Translate business requirements into clear and actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Produce and maintain process maps, business analysis artefacts and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Delivery Managers, Developers and Testers within Agile delivery teams.
- Support backlog refinement, sprint planning and ongoing delivery activities.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist with the implementation of business change.
- Ensure solutions align with business objectives, user needs and programme outcomes.
- Support delivery across complex government and multi-supplier environments.
Mandatory Requirements
- SFIA Level 4 Business Analyst experience.
- Previous experience delivering within HMRC.
- Strong requirements gathering, analysis and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
- Proven experience producing: User stories, Acceptance criteria, Process documentation.
- BPSS clearance or eligibility to obtain BPSS clearance.
Highly Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous CESA Futures experience.
- Experience working within HMRC ITSD programmes.
- Knowledge of HMRC Self Assessment services and associated business processes.
- Experience supporting delivery within complex, multi-supplier government environments.
