About the Role

We are looking for an experienced SAP Technical Architect to join a specialist SAP Integration Enablement team focused on transforming how SAP integrations are delivered. This is a hands-on, innovation-focused role where you'll help accelerate the SAP integration lifecycle through the use of automation, AI, modern tooling, and improved delivery practices. Working alongside SAP delivery teams, you'll design and validate solutions that reduce effort, improve quality, and speed up delivery across integration design, build, testing, and deployment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines deep SAP technical expertise with a passion for continuous improvement, automation, and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership across SAP integration projects and initiatives.
  • Design, prototype, and implement automation solutions that improve integration delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline SAP development, integration, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Work closely with SAP delivery teams to ensure solutions are practical, scalable, and deliver measurable value.
  • Lead technical proof-of-concepts and rapid innovation initiatives to evaluate new tools, technologies, and ways of working.
  • Drive adoption of AI-assisted development, automation, and modern engineering practices.
  • Define and measure key performance metrics to demonstrate improvements in delivery speed, quality, and efficiency.
  • Produce technical recommendations, demonstrations, and business cases to support wider adoption of successful solutions.
  • Support the creation of standards, tooling, and best practices for SAP integration delivery.

What You'll Be Working On

You'll help shape and deliver improvements across areas such as:

  • SAP API & OpenAPI Enablement - accelerating API specification generation, validation, and governance.
  • Documentation Automation - using AI and tooling to simplify and improve the creation of SAP technical and functional documentation.
  • Integration Development Acceleration - improving SAP PI/PO, middleware, and ABAP development through automation and reusable tooling.
  • Automated Testing - introducing contract-based and API testing approaches to improve quality and reduce manual effort.
  • AI-Assisted Engineering - evaluating and implementing AI tools that enhance productivity while maintaining governance and quality standards.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Technical Architect, Solution Architect, or Senior Technical Engineer within SAP environments.
  • Strong understanding of SAP integration technologies, APIs, middleware, and ABAP development.
  • Experience designing and implementing automation, tooling, or CI/CD solutions.
  • Knowledge of modern integration architectures and API-led delivery approaches.
  • Experience driving technical improvements through proof-of-concepts, pilots, or innovation initiatives.
  • Ability to assess technical challenges, identify opportunities, and deliver practical solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A data-driven approach with the ability to demonstrate measurable business value.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience with SAP PI/PO, SAP Integration Suite, or similar integration platforms.
  • Knowledge of OpenAPI specifications and contract-first API development.
  • Experience with automated API testing and quality assurance tooling.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted software development and engineering productivity tools.
  • Experience working within enablement, platform engineering, or transformation teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and DevOps practices.

Personal Attributes

  • Innovative and curious, with a passion for solving complex technical challenges.
  • Results-focused and motivated by delivering measurable improvements.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, iterative environments.
  • Strong problem solver with a pragmatic approach.
  • Collaborative and influential, with a natural ability to enable others.
  • Confident presenting ideas, recommendations, and technical concepts to a range of stakeholders.
  • Passionate about continuous improvement, automation, and emerging technologies.
