Job Purpose

The Salesforce Application & Analytics Manager will be responsible for the strategic management, support, development, and continuous improvement of the GMP Application and associated analytics capabilities. The role will ensure the effective operation of the Salesforce platform, delivery of the application roadmap, and development of high-quality reporting and analytics solutions across Salesforce and Microsoft Power BI/Fabric environments.

Working closely with Information Asset Owners, technical teams, and business stakeholders, the postholder will ensure alignment with platform standards, governance requirements, and business objectives while driving innovation and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Salesforce Application Management
    • Own the day-to-day administration, maintenance, support, and enhancement of the GMP Application hosted on the Salesforce platform.
    • Act as the primary subject matter expert for the application, ensuring stability, performance, and user satisfaction.
    • Develop and maintain the strategic roadmap for the GMP Application, aligning future developments with business priorities and organisational objectives.
    • Design, implement, and manage application enhancements and new functionality in accordance with the agreed roadmap.
    • Configure and optimise Salesforce functionality, including Flows, Lightning Record Pages, data structures, and security models.
    • Ensure appropriate governance, change management, testing, and release management processes are followed.
    • Liaise with the FCDO Services Salesforce Information Asset Owner and wider Salesforce teams to manage platform dependencies and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Data & Analytics Management
    • Lead the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of GMP analytical capabilities.
    • Manage integrations between Salesforce, Power BI/Fabric, and associated data sources.
    • Design, develop, and maintain semantic models that support robust business intelligence and reporting.
    • Create and enhance dashboards, reports, and data visualisations that enable effective performance monitoring and decision-making.
    • Support data quality initiatives and ensure the integrity and consistency of analytical outputs.
    • Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable reporting and analytical solutions.
    • Liaise with the FCDO Services Power BI/Fabric Information Asset Owner and associated teams to coordinate platform dependencies, standards, and future developments.
  • Stakeholder & Relationship Management
    • Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, technical teams, and external suppliers where required.
    • Provide expert advice and guidance on Salesforce application capabilities and data analytics best practices.
    • Operate effectively within a matrix-managed environment, balancing competing priorities and stakeholder requirements.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and user-centric service delivery.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Salesforce Certified Administrator.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder or equivalent practical experience.
  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience supporting and developing enterprise applications on the Salesforce platform.
  • Extensive experience configuring Salesforce Flows and Lightning Record Pages.
  • Strong experience working with complex data models, security models, workflows, and business processes.
  • Experience developing and maintaining Power BI/Fabric Data Flows and API integrations.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing advanced Power BI Semantic Models.
  • Demonstrable experience creating advanced Power BI/Fabric dashboards, reports, and visualisations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Experience working effectively in a matrix management environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Power Apps.
