We are seeking an experienced Programme Management Lead to establish and lead the PMO for a high-profile transformation programme within a large public sector organisation. You will be responsible for creating and embedding effective governance, reporting, assurance and programme controls, ensuring senior stakeholders have clear visibility of programme performance, risks, dependencies, benefits and resource requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead the programme PMO, defining governance, controls and reporting frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain programme controls including planning, RAID management, change control and benefits tracking.
  • Produce high-quality reporting and insights for senior leadership and programme boards.
  • Manage governance processes, assurance activities and decision-making forums.
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary PMO team.
  • Support business case development, approvals and assurance reviews.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience establishing or transforming a PMO within a complex programme or portfolio environment.
  • Strong programme controls expertise, including risk, dependency, assurance, benefits and change management.
  • Experience delivering technology-enabled change programmes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.
  • Relevant qualification such as MSP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ, ChPP, MoP or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Experience within government, public sector or other large, complex organisations.
