The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to support one of our central government clients Azure Data Platform team, helping to build, automate, enhance and support cloud-native platforms and DevOps capabilities across a complex Azure estate.
The Role
As an Azure DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and supporting cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and platform automation across Microsoft's Azure Data Platform. You'll work closely with engineering and delivery teams to build resilient, scalable and highly available solutions while promoting DevOps best practices and an automation-first mindset.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and DevOps toolchains.
- Building and automating Azure-based infrastructure and platform services.
- Supporting Azure Data Platform services across multiple environments.
- Working with product and engineering teams to gather requirements and implement technical solutions.
- Developing Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code solutions.
- Provisioning environments and supporting operational issues.
- Driving engineering best practice, automation and platform improvements.
- Supporting proof of concepts, innovation projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentoring and supporting engineers within Agile delivery teams.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Azure Data Platform (Essential)
- Candidates must demonstrate hands-on experience (minimum SFIA Level 4 equivalent) across:
- Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Azure Synapse Analytics
- Azure Data Lake
- Azure & DevOps
- Strong experience supporting and developing Azure cloud-based platforms and applications.
- Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Azure DevOps, GitLab or similar DevOps tooling experience.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code experience.
- Strong Terraform experience.
