This is a superb interim opportunity for an accomplished, UK based Power BI Developer to play a key part in building our client's new Data Hub that will bring together data from all areas of the organisation onto a single platform for analytics and improving data in their key operational systems.
This position will play a critical role in developing Power BI Sales reports using Fabric Direct Lake Semantic Data Models. This Developer role will primarily be visual Power BI reporting using Fabric Direct Lake Semantic Data Models. However, additional Data Engineering skills with strong experience of data ingestion, transformation and aggregation using Pipeline Copy and Fabric Gen2 Dataflows best practices will be a big advantage.
The successful candidate will have experience in the following:
- Power BI technical skills: Strong in-depth knowledge of the Power BI desktop toolbox, BI storytelling skills, experience of reporting pipeline sales KPIs and understanding of sales terminology.
- SQL: Ability to write and reverse engineer complex SQL views, understanding of fiscal calendars (worked with retail/manufacturing calendars) - the building of structured data models.
- Business Process: Understanding the sales pipeline i.e. from quote to completed sale to work in progress.
- Multiple layout reporting: Experience of developing Desktop, Mobile and Tabular reports.
- Semantic Data modelling: Previous experience of Star Schemas.
- Data Engineering: Experience building Pipelines & Gen2 Dataflows for big data to an Enterprise standard, DAX skills.
- Fabric Direct Lake experience: Built Power BI reports using Fabric Direct Lake.
- Advanced relationships knowledge: Knows how to overcome common Sales relationship issues.
- Power BI admin.
- Business Analysis: Has conducted requirements gathering, process mapping, metric definition and KPI designs, must understand percentages and ratios.
