We are seeking a dynamic, high-performing and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team. This role will be pivotal in identifying and acquiring new customers, driving revenue and gross profit growth, and expanding our market presence in our private sector division. The ideal candidate will have a background in technology services sales, a proven track record of business development success, and a passion for fostering relationships and acquiring new business. This role can be completed in a hybrid way, spending 2 days a week in our Solihull, Dudley or London offices, or with our UK based clients.
Responsibilities
- New business acquisition: proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in target markets, focusing on organisations with your Ideal Client Profile seeking digital transformation and legacy systems modernisation.
- Sales strategy development: Work with the Head of Private Sector to develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base, including market analysis and competitive positioning.
- Networking and outreach: leverage professional networks, industry events, and online platforms to connect with prospective clients and generate leads.
- Leverage expertise in selling bespoke services to tailor solutions that meet the unique needs of each client.
- Client relationship management: build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within prospective clients, understanding their business needs and articulating how our solutions can meet those needs.
- Proposal development: collaborate with internal teams to create compelling proposals and presentations that address client challenges, showcase our expertise and ultimately win new business.
- Market insights: stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to effectively position our offerings.
- Sales forecasting and reporting: Maintain accurate sales forecasts, report on sales activities, and provide insights to the leadership team on market opportunities and challenges.
- Collaboration: work closely with marketing, pre-sales, and delivery teams to ensure alignment in messaging and approach, and to provide feedback on customer needs.
Skills and Experience
- 2+ years of experience in business development or sales within the technology sector (focus on digital transformation, cloud solutions, data & AI, security or legacy systems preferred).
- Proven experience in selling bespoke services and solutions.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and acquiring new customers.
- Understanding of enterprise technology solutions and the digital transformation landscape.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical skills with a results-oriented mindset.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.
