- Operations Lead - Hybrid (Birmingham)
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Operations Lead to join our finance team and play a key role in overseeing the smooth and efficient delivery of our end-to-end finance operations across the Group.
You will take ownership of ensuring contractor payments, client invoicing, supplier payments and accounts payable activities are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with robust financial controls.
Acting as a key link between our Transaction Analysts and Finance Operations Manager, you will provide strong operational oversight, governance and support, while identifying opportunities to improve processes, enhance efficiency and strengthen controls.

Skill and Experience
- Experience managing contractor payments, client invoicing, accounts payable or broader finance operations processes.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, approval workflows, audit requirements, delegated authority frameworks and governance principles.
- Experience reviewing and validating financial transactions for accuracy, completeness and compliance.
- Experience producing reconciliations, exception reporting, operational finance reporting and management information.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and competing demands within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience owning, improving and governing operational processes rather than simply processing transactions.
- Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, reconciliations, exception reporting and management reporting.
- Experience working with finance systems, operational workflow platforms and reporting tools.
- Strong experience using In Time, including both transaction processing and system configuration activities.
- Ability to analyse transaction data and identify trends, risks, anomalies and control weaknesses.
- Familiarity with automation tools, workflow optimisation and technology-enabled process improvement.
- Experience within technology consulting, professional services, recruitment, contractor-led, private equity-backed or high-growth organisations.
- Experience supporting finance operations across multiple countries, legal entities, jurisdictions and currencies.
- Experience using Sage Intacct.
- Experience supporting finance transformation programmes, process redesign and systems implementation projects.
- Knowledge of automation technologies, AI-enabled workflows, process improvement methodologies or continuous improvement frameworks.
Education
- AAT qualified, studying towards a professional finance qualification, or qualified through relevant finance operations experience.
- Demonstrable experience in finance operations, accounts payable, billing, contractor payments or related transactional finance activities.
- Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a related discipline.
- Additional training or certification in Excel, Power BI, finance systems, automation tools, process improvement methodologies or data analytics
