We are supporting a major financial services organisation on a high‑profile transformation programme to appoint an AI Technology Controls Lead. This role will play a critical part in shaping and embedding the technology control environment for emerging Agentic and Generative AI use cases, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk frameworks and regulatory expectations. Sitting at the intersection of AI, technology risk, governance, and control design, you will work closely with engineering, architecture, security, and risk teams to ensure AI capabilities are secure, auditable, and appropriately governed across the full lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and assess technology risks associated with AI and Agentic AI use cases
- Define, document, and implement technology control requirements and mitigation strategies
- Perform risk and control mapping, identifying gaps and driving remediation actions
- Support the development of a standardised AI technology control framework
- Embed controls across:
- Architecture
- SDLC processes
- Operational and run‑time workflows
- Partner with engineering, security, architecture, and risk teams to ensure controls are practical and enforceable
- Support control implementation, uplift, and automation initiatives
- Contribute to governance, control testing, validation, and audit readiness activities
- Present clear updates into governance forums covering risks, gaps, and remediation progress
Required Experience
- Strong background in Technology Controls, Technology Risk, or IT and AI Governance within financial services
- Proven experience designing and implementing technology control frameworks
- Familiarity with large‑scale banking risk management frameworks, including:
- Policies
- Standards
- Control libraries
- Governance processes
- Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and non‑technical audiences
- Ability to lead workshops and shape control approaches within complex organisations
- Understanding of AI governance, model risk, and emerging AI risk landscapes
- Experience across AI governance, model risk, and enterprise banking control environments
