1st Line IT Desk Support Engineer

Are you passionate about IT and delivering exceptional support? We're looking for a proactive and customer-focused 1st Line IT Desk Support Engineer to join our clients growing team in Brierly Hill . Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1st line technical support to internal users via phone, email, and remote tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, software, printers, and network connectivity.
  • Log, track, and manage support tickets using the internal ITSM/ticketing system.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to 2nd/3rd line support teams as needed.
  • Assist with user account management (Active Directory, Microsoft 365).
  • Support device setup, configuration, and deployment (laptops, desktops, mobile devices).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of issues, fixes, and procedures.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a 1st line IT support or helpdesk role (minimum 1 year preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office 365, and basic networking.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Exchange, and remote support tools (e.g., TeamViewer, AnyDesk).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills-comfortable supporting users at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the role.
Desirable (Not Essential)
  • Experience with ITIL-based environments.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Intune, Azure AD, or ticketing systems like Freshdesk or ServiceNow.
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Fundamentals).
