We are supporting a major public sector transformation programme focused on modernising and simplifying a large-scale enterprise integration landscape.
This multi-year initiative is driving the migration from legacy technologies to strategic platforms, enabling the successful transition to modern cloud-based architecture and supporting wider digital transformation objectives.
As a
Senior Integration Architect , you will play a key role in designing and delivering integration solutions within a large-scale migration programme.
Working closely with architecture, engineering, and product teams, you will help shape the future integration strategy while ensuring high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions are delivered across the programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver integration solutions, migrating services from legacy platforms to modern strategic integration platforms.
- Define API specifications and integration patterns, including the transformation of legacy SOAP services into modern RESTful APIs.
- Apply API-first and domain-driven integration approaches to support reuse, resilience, and long-term maintainability.
- Contribute to end-to-end solution design, ensuring alignment with wider enterprise architecture principles and transformation objectives.
- Promote modern engineering practices including automated testing, CI/CD, shift-left delivery, and automation.
- Support the identification and management of technical risks, dependencies, and migration planning activities.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams, product owners, business stakeholders, and SMEs to ensure successful delivery.
- Contribute to architecture governance, technical documentation, and design assurance activities.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience in enterprise integration architecture and delivery within large-scale transformation or migration programmes.
- Strong expertise in API design, REST services, Open API specifications, and modern integration patterns.
- Experience designing and implementing service-based and distributed architectures.
- Working knowledge of enterprise integration platforms such as SAP Integration Suite, API Management platforms, or similar technologies.
- Experience delivering integration migration or modernisation programmes.
- Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability.
- Experience working across multiple delivery teams and contributing to broader architectural strategy and governance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within central government or wider public sector environments.
- Exposure to large-scale ERP transformation programmes.
- Experience supporting cloud-based integration strategies and platform modernisation initiatives.
- Knowledge of AI-assisted delivery approaches, including code analysis, automation, and documentation generation.
