Senior Infrastructure Engineer / Virtualisation Inside IR35, 565 P/DHybrid, 3 days on site per week in Milton Keynes Active SC6 Months with scope to extend We’re seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise across the VMware virtualisation stack to join a high-performing infrastructure team supporting critical enterprise platforms and services.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a combination of business-as-usual operations and project delivery activities, helping maintain and enhance a complex virtualised infrastructure environment.
The Role You’ll work alongside a team of skilled infrastructure specialists, supporting and developing virtualisation services across a large-scale technology estate.
The role combines operational support, platform administration, infrastructure improvements, and the deployment of new services and capabilities.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining platform stability, supporting ongoing projects, and contributing to future technology initiatives, including cloud migration and modernisation programmes.
Key Responsibilities Support and maintain VMware-based virtualisation platforms.
Deliver infrastructure improvements and project-based work.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform issues.
Implement and configure new virtualisation services.
Work closely with wider infrastructure and operational teams.
Contribute to service optimisation, resilience, and performance improvements.
Provide technical knowledge transfer and documentation where required.
Essential Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience with: VMware ESXiv Center VMware HA Configurationv SANVMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)VMware NSXVMware Aria Extensive infrastructure engineering and virtualisation experience.
Experience supporting complex enterprise environments.
Strong troubleshooting and operational support capabilities.
