Overview
In this role you will perform preventative maintenance across nationwide retail sites, focusing on IT and EPOS hardware. You work night shifts, travel to one site per shift, and document asset data and site conditions. You’ll complete room audits, update cabinet maps, and capture photographic evidence as part of a broader asset-management and maintenance program. Training is provided, and the work contributes to keeping retail devices in top condition. This is a field-based, detail-oriented position with a clear impact on site reliability.

- mileage paid over 75 miles at 33p per mile
- parking, tolls (excluding M6 Toll), ULEZ and congestion charges claimable where applicable
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on IT and EPOS equipment
- Clean and inspect handheld devices, printers, tills, self-scan units, scales, and related hardware
- Conduct communications room audits: check server serial numbers, remove legacy equipment, fit components, clean cabinet areas, and create cabinet maps
- Capture photographic evidence and maintain accurate asset information
- Report damaged or unavailable equipment and document access issues
- Complete project reports through the client’s reporting process
- Work independently in field conditions and use mobile devices to complete documentation
- Travel to one site per shift during night shifts (Sunday to Thursday, 8:00pm–4:00am)
- Attend training on first site
Key requirements
- Previous IT, EPOS, field engineering, hardware maintenance or deployment experience
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle
- Comfortable with night work and travel
- Proficient with smartphone, tablet or laptop for reporting and photo uploads
- Able to work in retail environments and perform physical tasks (bending, kneeling, confined spaces)
