Responsible for: Client Relationship Management, Supervisory Responsibilities, and Project Planning, Execution & Closure.

Role Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role encompass project planning, execution and closure, client relationship management, and team leadership.

Project Management

  • Proven project management experience within Fixed Voice telecommunications environments.
  • Lead the delivery of projects for our tier 1 telecommunications client; ensuring successful execution against agreed scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets.
  • Manage and coordinate technical resources, leading teams of experienced engineers and specialists.
  • Maintain strong focus on delivery, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Provide regular reporting and updates to the Projects Lead and TXO Senior Management.
  • Chair and manage weekly project progress meetings.
  • Collaborate across TXO and client teams to drive efficient project delivery.
  • Working knowledge of telecommunications tools, processes, and governance frameworks is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of Fixed Voice platforms and experience working with TDM technologies and vendors, including:
    • Ribbon (DMS100, Streamwide Voicemail)
    • Telent (System X)
    • Nokia (DX220)
    • Streamwide
    • ECT Intelligent Routing Platform
  • Favourable experience includes:
    • Alarm management platforms: Netcool and Previsor
    • TDM transmission systems, including GPT, Nokia, Marconi, Nortel, and ECI
    • Data networks supporting Fixed Voice Next Generation services
    • Legacy access cable networks

Project Planning

  • Identify stakeholders and understand their requirements and expectations.
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
  • Develop detailed project schedules and delivery plans.
  • Determine resource requirements and establish resource plans.
  • Prepare budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Produce RAMS and Construction Phase Plans where required.
  • Develop quality, communications, procurement, and risk management plans.
  • Identify risks and contingency actions.
  • Assemble project teams and establish governance arrangements.
  • Attend client meetings and site surveys as required.

Project Execution

  • Deliver project plans and manage implementation activities.
  • Monitor and control timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and project governance.
  • Manage procurement activities and supplier performance.
  • Control changes to scope, deliverables, and resource requirements.
  • Produce and present project status reports.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to project teams.

Project Closure

  • Ensure all completion and acceptance criteria are achieved.
  • Obtain stakeholder sign-off for final deliverables.
  • Present final project, financial, and budget reports.
  • Complete documentation handover and knowledge transfer activities.
  • Release project resources and close contracts where applicable.
  • Conduct post-project reviews and capture lessons learned.
  • Evaluate outcomes against agreed objectives.

About You

  • Demonstrable experience delivering projects within Fixed Voice Telecoms environments.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including experience negotiating, administering, and managing large, complex projects.
  • Experience operating within regulated environments, with a sound understanding of project governance, reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to deliver disaggregated projects involving multiple interfaces and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
  • Experience defining project scope, business objectives, requirements, and stakeholder deliverables.
  • Previous line management or team leadership experience, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong health and safety focus, with excellent attention to detail and a zero-tolerance approach to non-compliance.
  • Results-driven, organised, and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education/Qualifications required

  • MSP, Prince2 / APM / PMP qualified - favourable
