TXM Recruit are proud to be working in partnership with a well-established and innovative engineering organisation, supporting them in the search for a Electronics Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is a key position within the engineering function, offering the opportunity to take technical ownership of advanced electronic design projects while also leading and mentoring a team of engineers. The role will suit an experienced professional with a strong background in power electronics and a passion for delivering high-quality, cutting-edge solutions.

The Role

  • You will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and optimisation of electronic systems, with a particular focus on analogue electronics, power systems, and switch-mode power supplies (SMPS).
  • Alongside hands-on technical work, you will provide leadership and guidance to a team of engineers, driving innovation and engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of analogue electronics, power systems, and SMPS solutions.
  • Take ownership of LED lighting control and power management systems design.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers.
  • Oversee integration of control systems, HMI, and electronic components into products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving across complex electronic systems.
  • Ensure designs meet regulatory standards and customer requirements.
  • Produce and review technical documentation including schematics, PCB layouts, and specifications.
  • Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes and standards.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.

About You

  • Strong experience in analogue electronics, power systems, and SMPS design.
  • Proven expertise in power conversion (buck, boost, flyback, etc.).
  • Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams.
  • Proficient with design and simulation tools such as Altium, SPICE, and MATLAB.
  • Solid understanding of EMC compliance, thermal management, and safety standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Advanced qualifications (Masters/PhD) are advantageous.
  • Demonstrable experience in an electronic design role.
