Are you a Technician with fault-finding and Heavy industry experience? Whether you're looking for your first role in the rail industry or are already working in Rolling Stock and seeking a new opportunity. We're hiring Heavy Maintenance Technicians, working on Locomotives in Ipswich. You'll play a key role in ensuring reliability, safety, and performance as part of one of the UK's leading rail engineering organisations.

As a Locomotive Technician you will be working on a varied shift pattern and will be offered a starting salary £45,500 with opportunities to enhance your salary with training modules worth £1500 each. We encourage applications from all backgrounds, including those currently working in the REME, HGV, Plant, Marine, and other Heavy equipment-focused industries. If you have transferable Mechanical/Heavy diagnostic skills, we're interested in you.

You will maintain various types of locomotives in a safety-critical setting. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards
  • Conducting maintenance examinations
  • Leading in the absence of a supervisor

Applicants should ideally have a minimum NVQ level 3 in engineering and possess strong fault-finding, leadership skills, and an understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
