TXM Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Transport Consultant located in Manchester to join a growing Transport Development Planning team. This role is a permanent, full time hybrid position paying between £45,000 - £55,000 per annum. This role would suit candidates with approximately 3-8 years experience in transport planning, either within consultancy or a local authority setting. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a wide variety of residential, commercial, retail, and leisure development projects within a collaborative and supportive consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review technical transport planning documents including Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and Environmental Statement Chapters.
- Manage smaller to medium-sized projects from inception through to delivery.
- Build and run junction modelling using Junctions 10 and LinSig software.
- Liaise with clients, Highway Authorities, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Support negotiations and attend external meetings with stakeholders.
- Assist with fee proposals, budget management, and business development activities.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of development projects.
Requirements
- 3-8 years experience within transport planning.
- Strong understanding of transport planning principles and development planning.
- Experience using Junctions 10 and LinSig software.
- Knowledge of: Manual for Streets (MfS), DMRB, LTN1/20, Active Travel England requirements, Healthy Streets principles.
- Excellent project management, technical writing and presentational skills.
- Professional membership with TPS, CIHT, or CILT (or working towards).
