The Opportunity

We are recruiting for two Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers to join a well-established food manufacturing business based in Uttoxeter. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced engineers who are qualified in either an electrical or mechanical discipline and are looking to further their career within a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment.

Working on a continental shift pattern, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and performance of production equipment, helping to maximise plant uptime while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and food hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across manufacturing and packaging equipment.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs.
  • Perform both electrical and mechanical maintenance activities as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to reduce downtime and improve production performance.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is completed in line with health and safety, food safety, and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site's maintenance management system.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimise disruption and maximise output.
  • Assist with the installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement of production equipment.

About You

We're looking for an engineer who has:

  • A recognised engineering apprenticeship or an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Proven maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills across both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience working with automated production and packaging equipment.
  • A proactive approach with a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work a continental shift pattern.
