TXM Recruit are recruiting a permanent Locomotive Fitter based in Ipswich.
Location: Ipswich
Shifts: Shift Roster 3-week rotation shift (Mon Friday Earlies 06:00-14:00, Late 14:00 -22:00 and Nights 22:00-06:00) Sat Overtime when on Earlies: 06.00 - 14:00
Salary: £38,960. Overtime is paid at time and a quarter. Once Rail competent £45,508.
We are looking for individuals from a rail or rolling stock background predominantly; however, individuals from the following industries will be considered: Rolling Stock, Rail, Royal Navy, RAF, REME, British Army, General Engineering, Aerospace, Automotive, Heavy plant machinery who have experience within the field of mechanical engineering.
Purpose of Job: Carry out servicing, maintenance and fault finding of locomotives, components and equipment to ensure the production of safe, reliable locomotives in line with company availability and reliability requirements. Adhere to health and safety and local safety policy requirements, and other safety and technical standards. Comply with all instructions, rules and regulations in force. Maintain, service, fault find and repair locomotives in accordance with the approved maintenance plans as required by the local manager. Ensure all relevant paperwork for examinations and repairs is correctly completed on time and to required company standards. Ensure that materials issued to locomotives and wagons are recorded and reported.
