We are supporting a global aerospace engineering organisation looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer to join its advanced precision machining operation in Tewkesbury. This is a role for someone who enjoys solving manufacturing problems, improving machining processes, and being heavily involved in the engineering side of production rather than sitting away from it.

The business manufactures complex aerospace components in a highly advanced machining environment using modern CNC technologies, sliding-head machining, and precision manufacturing processes. You will work closely with machinists, programmers, quality teams, and production engineers supporting both New Product Introduction (NPI) and continuous improvement activities across the facility.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Developing and optimising machining methods for complex aerospace components
  • Supporting sliding head machining processes and process improvement activities
  • Creating CNC manufacturing methods using CAD/CAM software
  • Supporting tooling selection, fixture design, and manufacturing documentation
  • Reviewing engineering drawings and supporting Design for Manufacture (DfM) improvements
  • Driving Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP activities
  • Working directly with production teams to resolve technical manufacturing challenges

What We’re Looking For:

  • You’ll ideally have Manufacturing or Process Engineering experience within precision machining
  • Experience supporting CNC machining environments
  • Exposure to sliding head machining technologies (Star machines are advantageous)
  • CAD/CAM experience using software such as Siemens NX, Partmaker, FeatureCAM, or Vericut
  • Good understanding of GD&T and tight-tolerance manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and process improvement methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a practical engineering mindset
  • Experience within aerospace, defence, medical, automotive, or other regulated manufacturing sectors would be highly beneficial.
