We're working with a precision engineering manufacturer in Lymington that produces complex machined components for customers across aerospace, defence, energy and other highly regulated industries. They're looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the team and take ownership of the manufacturing process, from developing machining strategies and CNC programs through to supporting production and driving improvements on the shop floor. This is a role for someone who enjoys solving manufacturing problems, improving processes and finding better ways to machine complex components.

The Role

Working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality, you'll be responsible for creating and optimising CNC programs, developing manufacturing methods and ensuring components can be produced safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. A large part of the role will involve working with complex multi-axis machining operations, developing practical solutions to manufacturing challenges and supporting the introduction of new work into the business.

Responsibilities

  • Create and optimise CNC programs from engineering drawings and CAD models
  • Prove out new machining processes and support production during the introduction
  • Develop tooling, fixturing and machining strategies
  • Create manufacturing documentation and process routes
  • Investigate production issues and implement improvements
  • Work closely with machinists and production teams to improve efficiency and quality
  • Support continuous improvement projects across the machine shop
  • Assist with the introduction of new components and manufacturing methods

What They're Looking For:

You'll ideally have experience in a Manufacturing Engineer, CNC Programmer, or CAD/CAM Programming position and be comfortable developing machining processes for complex precision-engineered components. Experience with multi-axis machining is important, and any exposure to Mazak Integrex machines or Mastercam would be particularly beneficial. Most importantly, they're looking for somebody who enjoys engineering, takes pride in their work and wants to play a key role in improving manufacturing capability.

What's On Offer?

  • Competitive salary
  • Profit-sharing scheme
  • Excellent pension and life assurance
  • 34 days holiday, including bank holidays
  • Health cash plan and wellbeing support
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Free onsite parking
  • Genuine opportunities for career progression

Working Hours

Monday Thursday: 7:30 am 4:30 pm
Friday: 8:00 am 1:00 pm

If you're looking for a role where you can have a real influence on how components are manufactured, rather than simply maintaining existing processes, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and highly respected engineering business.
