Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and driven Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join a forward-thinking manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineering professional to play a key role in new product introduction, operational improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives within a dynamic production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations
- Drive the successful introduction of new products and programmes into production
- Develop and embed improved manufacturing methods to deliver sustainable business benefits
- Establish and maintain system policies associated with production lead times
- Manage and monitor Work in Progress (WIP) to meet operational requirements
- Support manufacturing activities internally and externally as required
- Act as a focal point to ensure production and new product activities are completed effectively
- Participate in and lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives
- Support inventory control strategies including FIFO, WIP reduction, and returnable container systems
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies
- Work collaboratively to achieve company goals and operational objectives
- Undertake any additional duties reasonably required by the business
Skills Required:
- Strong technical knowledge of modern manufacturing methods and machine tools
- Ability to challenge existing processes and drive innovative solutions
- Good understanding of materials management processes and best practices
- Experience working within cross-functional teams and engaging with stakeholders at all levels
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM and manufacturing programming processes
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive operational adherence and performance
- Aerospace industry experience would be advantageous, though not essential
- Proven ability to champion change and implement new working methods
