Junior Technical Buyer – 3‑Month Contract

Location: Silverstone, UK

Rate: £200 – £250 a day

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Junior Technical Buyer to join a leading Formula 1 team on a short‑term contract at their world‑class facility in Silverstone.

This role is perfect for someone early in their procurement career who has experience working with technical components—particularly within engineering, manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or composites.

You will support the procurement function by helping to source materials and components essential for ongoing F1 build and development programmes, ensuring parts are delivered accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with purchasing materials, components, and assemblies to support engineering and production requirements.
• Work closely with senior buyers, suppliers, and internal teams to follow up on orders and ensure timely delivery.
• Help prepare and raise purchase orders in the ERP system.
• Support basic supplier communication, including chasing lead times and confirming delivery dates.
• Maintain accurate procurement and traceability records.
• Contribute to process improvements and support the team during key build phases.

Requirements

• Some previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or administrative role within engineering, manufacturing, motorsport, aerospace, or automotive.
• Understanding of technical drawings or engineered components (desirable, not essential).
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems such as IFS, SAP, or Epicor (training can be provided).
• Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail.
• Confident communicator with a willingness to learn and develop procurement skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Immediate availability or short notice period preferred.
