My client is looking for a Senior Wind Tunnel Operations Engineer to join their cutting-edge Wind Tunnel Operations team.
In this role, you will be at the forefront of Formula 1 aerodynamic testing, ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of their state-of-the-art wind tunnel facility. You will play a key part in providing technical support and first-line operational assistance, keeping the tunnel running at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct routine checks, calibration, and maintenance of Wind Tunnel model instrumentation before, during, and after testing.
- Assemble, operate, and maintain bench test rigs for system verification.
- Work on R&D test and calibration rigs, ensuring precise operation and reliability.
- Diagnose, repair, and install electrical & electronic systems within the Wind Tunnel.
- Record and document experimental methods, configurations, and test data.
- Track tunnel metrics to monitor health and efficiency.
- Assist with stock control and spares inventory management.
- Provide technical support for PIV systems and data analysis teams.
- Extensive experience in a Formula 1 Wind Tunnel environment.
- Strong background in aerodynamic testing and Wind Tunnel systems.
- Expertise in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, including test and measurement equipment calibration.
- Experience with wiring harnesses, electronic components, and data acquisition software is a significant advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical skills across heavy plant & sensitive instrumentation.
- Strong ability to work under pressure, follow detailed technical instructions, and maintain meticulous records.
