We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Technician to join a highly advanced engineering and manufacturing environment within the automotive / motorsport sector. This is a hands-on role supporting both production and development activities across e-motors and inverter assemblies, while also helping improve processes, mentor team members and support continuous improvement activities.
The Position
You will be responsible for carrying out mechanical and electrical assembly operations to a very high standard while supporting product development and process improvements across the department. You will also work closely with Manufacturing and Development Engineers to help define assembly methods, improve tooling and support investigations into failed units when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical and electrical assembly of e-motors and inverter products
- Carrying out electrical testing and measurements
- Following guided assembly systems, SOPs and build instructions
- Supporting development of assembly processes and SOPs
- Assisting with investigations into failed units
- Supporting continuous improvement activities
- Assisting with departmental KPIs and process improvements
- Providing feedback to improve tooling and manufacturing processes
- Supporting 6S and Health & Safety activities
- Mentoring and supporting other technicians within the department
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within an engineering workshop environment
- Background within Automotive, Motorsport or Aerospace manufacturing
- Strong mechanical assembly experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Good understanding of quality and safety standards
- Basic computer skills including Word, Excel and Outlook
