Semi skilled Fitter / Mechanical Fitter

TXM Recruit are recruiting 8 permanent Rail Support Technicians based in Derby.\\n\\nLocation: Derby\\n\\nShifts: Monday – Thursday 08.00 – 5pm/ Friday – 08.00am – 2.30pm\\n\\nSalary: £30,000k – £32,000k\\n\\nWe are looking for individuals from a rail or rolling stock background predominantly however individuals from the following Industries considered: Rolling Stock / RAIL/ Royal Navy / RAF / REME / British Army/ General Engineering/Aerospace/Automotive who have experience within the field of mechanical engineering and overhaul experience.\\n\\nPrimary Purpose of the Role:\\n\\nTo use basic engineering machinery, performing routine maintenance and repairs, and assisting with the preparation and cleaning of parts for projects. Additional responsibilities include supporting HVAC work, keeping the workspace organised and supporting other departments when required.\\n\\nTo carry out the role whilst ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times. Ensuring that high levels of productivity, attendance and customer satisfaction are maintained at all times.\\n\\nKey Duties and Responsibilities:\\n\\nYour duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:\\n\\n• Using basic engineering machinery.\\n\\n• Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on various mechanical equipment.\\n\\n• Tasks to help prep and get ready for work / projects such as stripping down parts, preparing parts, cleaning ready for the overhaul process.\\n\\n• Support the other engineers on working on HVAC units.\\n\\n• Assist with stripping of rail units when they arrive into the workshop.\\n\\n• Ensuring all health and safety procedures and working practices are followed and adhered to at all times.\\n\\n• General housekeeping duties around the production area.\\n\\n• Ensuring the workspace is kept clean and organised at all times.\\n\\n• Helping out in other departments as required.\\n\\n• Undertake relevant training to upskill.\\n\\nGeneral:\\n\\nTo work in a manner that reflects the Company values; deliver results, customer focus,\\n\\ninsist on highest standards, ownership and accountability teamwork.\\n\\nProviding high standards of quality whilst promoting, building and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers.\\n\\nIdentifying training needs relevant to the job and participating in any training and development as required.\\n\\nMaintaining high levels of personal motivation, attendance and conduct.\\n\\nKey Relationships:\\n\\n• Production Manager\\n\\n• Production Director\\n\\n• Rail Overhaul Team\\n\\n• Production colleagues\\n\\n• Customers\\n\\nPerson Specification:\\n\\nEssential:\\n\\n• Experience of working within a similar role.\\n\\n• Effective and professional communication skills – verbal and written.\\n\\n• Detailed oriented and ability to multitask.\\n\\n• Able to work individually or as part of a team.\\n\\n• Logical troubleshooting skills.\\n\\nDesirable:\\n\\n• Previous experience in the rolling stock/rail industry would be advantageous.\\n\\n• Able to read mechanical engineering drawings.\\n\\n• Full UK clean driving licence.\\n\\n• Fork Lift Truck license.

Overhead Crane License.\\n\\nBrazing experience or willingness to attend brazing training course\\n\\nFGAS qualified or willing to be trained to become FGAS qualified
